The work extends numerical predictions for flow-induced sound in rotating systems and advances the understanding of sound generation. For this purpose, a hybrid method with "Hydrodynamic/Acoustic-Splitting" (HAS) is developed to enable detailed flow sound investigations at low Mach numbers. Aeroacoustic analyses of an axial fan and hydroacoustic investigations of a centrifugal pump are presented. Design-related modeling specifications are necessary when considering sound generation mechanisms. Finally, recommendations are presented that provide reasonable results and allow valid flow sound predictions.
